It runs as a Windows 2000 service and only allows Internet access to client terminals that have been authenticated. PIA-Service Manager supports a wide variety of authentications including credit cards, member accounts and PIN-activated prepaid cards. It also supports unlimited custom external authentication methods using standard HTTP POST communications.
