Ink Coverage: Written for the Mac using Tiger and above. This program opens a print ready pdf and will calculate the ink or toner coverage of the file. A perfect solution for needing to know approximately how much a print job will cost before printing. This is a small easy to use application that does one thing - reads ink or toner coverage and gives you the calculated results based on the yield results listed by the manufacturer. We created this program out of need. Running a printing business ourselves; we quote our commercial work by finding the consumable cost and marking it up appropriately. Using print time, paper, and design time, we can be consistent on our quotes. This can be used to determine the cost of consumables for any digital printer; whether laser printer, poster printer, wax printer, or common ink jet. If you have a 6 color ink jet for example you can cost average the color inks.
