Herman Minkowski 1903 Einstein's maths teacher first proposed the idea of space-time, a unified four dimensional model in which space and time were not separate elements but were made of the same stuff. SWAP swaps one spatial dimension with that of time, cutting through the space-time continuum like a knife through a cabbage, revealing the intricate internal structure. This screen saver version of SWAP was written in 2007 and is based on a video/computer installation first shown on Dalston Lane, Hackney in 1998. You have to attach a camera to this computer for it to work. A firewire DV camera is best, some webcams work they may be a little slow.
